S. Bixler, MA, LADC

S. Bixler MA, LADC is planning to take the NCMHCE examination in the coming months for LPCC licensure. They received their Bachelor's of Science in Allied Health – Addiction Studies from the University of South Dakota. They also completed their Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies at the University of South Dakota, with emphasis in Addiction Medicine, Clinical Psychology, Educational Psychology, Counseling and Guidance, Sociology, and Criminal Justice.

Their practice focuses on the mental health of adults, specifically with adjustment, depression, anxiety, grief, hoarding, gender dysphoria, body dysmorphia, co-occurring addiction/mental health, and personality disorders.

Although they use many therapeutic treatment modalities in their practice, they have been extensively trained in both therapeutic approaches of CBT (cognitive behavior therapy) and REBT (rational emotive behavior therapy).

They have worked in the addiction and mental health fields for over 20 years, both as a clinician and as a program administrator. They enjoy working with clients who have felt marginalized, discriminated, or otherwise ignored, including LGBTQ+, BIPOC, and individuals involved in the criminal justice system.
