Craig Vine, M.D.
Dr. Craig Vine is a board certified psychiatrist and is the Medial Director at Psych Recovery, Inc.
Dr. Craig Vine completed undergraduate training at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. He received his M.D. at
the University of Iowa and completed psychiatric residency through the University of Minnesota. He was on staff
at Regions Hospital in St. Paul from 1992 through 2001 where he was director of outpatient services. Dr. Vine
is currently an active staff member at the University of Minnesota Medical Center, Fairview and Fairview
Southdale Hospital, Regina Hospital, St. Josephs as well as Regions Hospital. He has a busy inpatient
practice at the University of Minnesota Medical Center, Fairview where he treats adult and senior patients
and does ECT (electroconvulsive therapy).
Dr. Vine joined PR in 2002. In his outpatient clinic he sees adults and seniors for mood and anxiety disorders,
eating disorders, schizophrenia, dementia and general psychiatric care. He has also worked extensively with
psychiatric aspects of HIV and does consultation-liaison work. He is involved in VNS (vagal nerve stimulation)
therapy and does psychopharmacology research. Dr. Vine also does extensive speaking on pharmaceutical therapies.
Dr. Vine is an assistant professor in the department of psychiatry at the University of Minnesota. Formerly,
Dr. Vine worked at the Dorothy Day Clinic for the Homeless, the Ramsey County Mental Health Center, Open
Cities Health Center, and the Minnesota Prison System.
Dr. Vine received his board certification from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He has been
a member of the American Psychiatric Association and the Minnesota Psychiatry Society.
Dr. Vine has received numerous honors and awards throughout his career. St. Paul Magazine named Dr. Vine
one of the "Top 100 Physicians" in the Twin Cities, and Minnesota Monthly Magazine named him one of the
"Top Doctors for Women".
